Tesla Cybertruck Shifts From Exoskeleton to Unibody Design

The Tesla Cybertruck has undergone a transformation from its initial exoskeleton design, which was compared to something out of a Marvel comic book, to a more traditional unibody design similar to the Honda Ridgeline, according to recent reports.

Initially unveiled in late 2019, the Cybertruck generated a lot of buzz due to its futuristic and angular design, with Tesla CEO Elon Musk describing it as a "cyberpunk, Blade Runner truck." However, the unique design presented several challenges, including difficulty with manufacturing and repair.

As a result, Tesla has reportedly shifted its focus to a more conventional unibody design, which is expected to be easier and cheaper to produce. The new design is said to be similar to the Honda Ridgeline, a mid-size pickup truck known for its comfort and versatility.

Despite the change in design, the Cybertruck is still expected to offer impressive performance and technology features. It will reportedly come in three different versions, including a single-motor, dual-motor, and tri-motor setup, with the top-of-the-line model capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

Additionally, the Cybertruck is expected to feature an all-electric powertrain, a massive battery pack, and a range of up to 500 miles on a single charge. It will also come equipped with Tesla's advanced Autopilot system, which offers a range of driver assistance features.

Overall, while the Cybertruck may no longer have the distinctive exoskeleton design that initially grabbed attention, it still promises to be a unique and powerful vehicle that could shake up the pickup truck market.
