Tesla Model X Limited Edition T Largo Founders Edition #2/2

Tesla Model X Limited Edition T Largo Founders Edition #2/2

    By Glenn Oyoung

The Model X has redefined what an electric vehicle can be, combining utility with performance — and let’s not forget the first time we saw a Falcon door demonstration. It is only fitting then that the World’s First Tesla Tuner, T Sportline, has elevated the Model X to the next level with its T Largo program. “Largo” means wide in Italian and the T Largo Model X certainly delivers in that department.

    Exterior: So Fresh, So Clean

This beauty in Pearl White is one of two Founders Edition T Largo Model X’s, its complement is black. The fender flares, carbon fiber front apron and diffuser, and satin bronze wheels check the boxes that seem connected to my AMEX-dispensing genes. It strikes just the right balance between aggressive enough to put you on notice and understated enough to be factory. If Tesla had an M or AMG division, T Sportline could be it.

There’s really nothing cleaner in my book than a widebody in white with bronze wheels. There’s so many ways to get it wrong (too many whited-out parts, not enough whited out parts, funky bronze coloring) but T Sportline is known for getting the details right. They’ve certainly done so with T Largo Founders Edition #2.

The T Largo carbon fiber widebody package includes a front apron, front air duct, wide side skirts, wide fender arches, rear diffuser, and a wing cover. T Sportline completely paints the fender arches while strategically exposing sections of carbon fiber so that onlookers don’t get the owner mixed up with some guy schlepping around in a polyurethane kit.

Generally, the T Sportline Chrome Delete package removes all traces of shininess using wrap. The Founders Edition takes it to the next level with paint instead on the window trim, door handles, rear hatch trim, and Autopilot Fender Camera.

Rounding out the exterior upgrades is a full 3M Crystalline 70%/40% tint package covering the front windshield, side windows, panoramic roof, and rear window. It not only looks mean but also keeps the Model X substantially cooler which is not easy to do considering the size of the greenhouse.

    Chassis: Shoe Freak

The T Largo program is limited to twenty vehicles in the U.S. All T Largo Model Xs are outfitted with 22” Limited Edition TS120 20-spoke wheels that are wide enough (22x9.5” front 22x10.5” rear) to match the body kit.

Founders Edition #2 kicks the exclusivity up a notch with a rare satin bronze finish. Coming from the wheel industry, I’ve seen bronze gone totally wrong – either via the color tone or the level of satin. These wheels complement the pearl white perfectly and accept the factory center caps and TPMS sensors. The TS120s are shod in Pirelli Scorpion Zero TO factory tires. 265/35-22 front, 285/35-22 rear.

    Interior: More Gloss, More Floss

The Model X comes from the factory with satin carbon fiber trim, but with a car this sporty-looking, T Sportline decided to swap that out with their full range of gloss carbon fiber interior pieces. This includes their gloss carbon fiber steering wheel, center flip door, and their nine-piece Carbon Fiber Dash Trim Kit which replaces the panels on all doors, the cup holder, and the center console.

It may seem odd to replace carbon fiber with carbon fiber, but the switch from matte to gloss spices up the already-upscale interior of the T Largo Founders Edition considerably. Like everything else that T Sportline does, the devil is always in the details, no matter how big or small.

    Conclusion

We live in an era where everyone wants to feel exclusive and marketers get it. The proliferation of “limited releases” and “special editions” is especially ubiquitous in the automotive world. With that said, T Sportline has created a program within a program that is truly exclusive and should be appealing to any Model X owner looking to transform their vehicle into something unique that is poised to stand the tests of time and fickle and ever-changing design landscape.
